The nature, the Sacro Monte, the natural reserves.
Parco Campo dei Fiori of Varese, instituted in 1984, includes two massifs: Campo dei Fiori, for all time the mountain of the people of Varese, and Mount Martica with its highest point formed at Punta Paradiso (Paradise Point).
From this point one can admire an extraordinary panorama over the Western Alps, Monviso, Monte Rosa, Lake Maggiore, prealpine lakes and the entire Lombardy plane.
Surrounding the park`s perimeter are the communities of Luvinate, Barasso, Comerio, Cocquio Trevisago, Orino, Castello Cabiaglio, Bedero Valcuvia, Valganna. Brinzio, is the only community entirely located inside the park.
The name Campo dei Fiori (Flower Field) derives most probably from the imposing flowers (mainly narcissus) that at a time coloured the pastures in Spring. Abandoning the pasture, the vast meadows that covered the massif were substituted by forests.
Nowadays the Parco Campo dei Fiori, is covered in forests of chestnut and beech, water rich, be it a spring or underground, and caves, some still unexplored and of considerable depth.
Inside the Parco di Varese six natural reserves have been established containing the most important and characteristic environments: the Reserve of Lake Ganna, of Lake Brinzio, of the peat bog Pau Majur, of the peat bog del Carecc, of the Monte Campo dei Fiori, of the Martica-Chiusarella.
The eight natural monuments spread of the park`s territory also deserve a visit, small gems of particular naturalistic interest, among them carsiche caves, doline and ploughed fields.
Inside the Natural Park Campo dei Fiori there are also interesting historico-artistic monuments:
