ACCOMMODATIONS AT: Varese

Guided Tours Autumn - Winter 2010

From October to December 2010 the Township of Varese organizes a series of guided tours to discover the most authentic and attractive places in Varese and Province.

This will be an opportunity to visit characteristic places of our area in a deeper way.
The next appointments will be:

On Saturday, 20 November, at 3.00pm - Palazzo Estense, Varese: "Metaphors and allegories in the skyes of Palazzo Estense's vaults" - Guided tour of the fresco paintings of the Honour Stairs and of the Salon.

On Saturday, 27 November, at 10.00 am- Piazza Cacciatori delle Alpi, S. Martino's Church, Varese: "In the Church of S. Martino, transfigurated skyes of the eighteenth century's painting" - Guided tour of the Church and of its fresco paintings.

On Sunday, 28 November, at 11.00 am - S. Stefano's Church, Varese Bizzozero: "The history of the salvation on the Ciborium of Galdino da Varese" - Guided tour to the fresco paintings of the Ciborium.

On Saturday 4 December, at 3.00 pm - Piazza Montegrappa, Varese: "The storyteller tells... The music goes with" - Animated walking in the old town centre of Varese, from courtyard to courtyard, stories of today and chronicle of yesterday, words and music.

On Sunday, 5 December, at 3.00 pm - Piazza della Motta. Varese. "La Motta between the Sacred and the Profane. Shape triumph and colours party". Civil and Religious traditions in the square and in the most important building: S. Antonio della Motta.

On Wednesday, 8 December, at 3.00 pm - Piazza Montegrappa, Varese: "The storyteller tells... The music goes with" - Animated walking in the old town centre of Varese, from courtyard to courtyard, stories of today and chronicle of yesterday, words and music.

On Saturday, 11 December, at 3.00 pm - Sala Veratti, Varese: "Images and Symbols of Sybils and Prophets in the ancient refectory" - Guided tour of biblical characters.

On Sunday, 12 December, at 3.00 pm - Visconteo Oratory, Albizzate, Varese: "Giovanni, the pioneer in the visconteo oratory of Albizzate" - Guided tour to the fresco paintings.

On Saturday, 18 December, at 3.00 pm - First Chapel, Varese: "A hand lens on the III Chapel of the Sacro Monte" - Guided tour with analitical and iconographical reading.

The guided tours will take place only if the minimum number of participants will be reached.
Guided tours are free, except for possibles entry and transport fees, that will have to be payed before the starting of the tour.
