Discovering wonderful gardens

Villa della Porta Bozzolo connects the glamour of a wonderful architecture to marvellous gardens.
In the '500 it was a country villa, then it became the house of an aristocratic family.
In the XVIIIth century his beauty was enhanced by a large garden that can be defined a real artwork.
Near the villa there are racing stables, barns, stables, cellars and a press and his rooms are enriched by decorations belonging to the eighteenth-century lombard art.
The big central room, on the low ground, hosts a big marble fireplace and his walls are full of trompe-l'oeil paints, frames and fake architectures.
The vaults ceiling, for example, becomes a sky populated by little angels and mitological creatures.
The room was probably used as dance hall.
On the first floor, the long arcade profusely decorated with flowers and garlands was used as welcome area for the guests.
The library is far from the others villa's rooms and it's still furnished with wall-cupboards that contain importants works of italian and foreign writers and family documents.
Externally we can find a wonderful baroque garden that connects the alley entrance, the flower banks, the four terraces connected to a majestic flight of steps, the bend closed by a fountain and the cypress alley.
The secret garden is a quiet place. Here a linden alley leads to an aedicule decorated by two statues which represent Apollo and the muses.
